or the past two years, the Spanish River canoe route has been cleaned and maintained by 'Go With The River,' a not-for-profit organization that was started by Mark and Mike Stoneman, two brothers with a love for paddling and caring for the wild rivers of Ontario With the assistance of other volunteers, they have cleaned up hundreds of pounds of garbage, and have cleared and signed portage trails and campsites on both the East and West branches of the Spanish River.
